If I was a dog, I think I’d be a golden retriever because when I feel the most free I’m playful, trustworthy and super loving.
My Dad died the exact same way and the exact some age as his dad. It was unexpected at 49 by a blood clot causing a heart attack. This pattern ignited my curiosity (and fears!) about the imprints we have from our ancestors.
One of my super powers is holding space. My astrology is; Pisces sun, Taurus rising with Virgo moon. Imprinting on me powerful intuition, lots of grounding and delightful organization. I’m grateful to have one foot planted in the spirit realm and the other right here on earth.
Three years into a solo world travel I met up with my mom in Italy. I was so excited to share how much I loved who I had become and help her destress from life. She arrived and I immediately get sick. I was in the hospital for over a week until I was stable enough to travel home. Although the doctors still don't know what happened, that was the major event that solidified my path in health and wellbeing. Certifying in life coaching, yoga therapy, Pilates, Thai massage and reiki.
I always wanted to be an actor growing up. So I became one! Looking back, what I loved most is getting to play different characters because I got to express in ways I, Jen, would never have felt comfortable doing in real life. It was a life line until I learned to do it myself. I continue to work as a voice actor and still notice how much it supports my playful side and the inner work I need for sharing my voice.
As a kid I had a dream of watching someone trying to be revived by paramedics down the street from me. Shortly after, I saw that exact scene play out in real life with the addition of now knowing who they were trying to revive, one of my neighbours, a young boy. This experience freaked me out. I never told anyone and unconsciously made a promise to never ever have that type of experience again. Thank goodness life didn’t listen, instead helping me to gently open to the incredible world of spirit and intuitive magic.
I moved to a new province and even a new country and hemisphere in my younger years. It made be able to reinvent myself during key moments of growing up. I feel this is one reason why I find it easier to let go of older ideas I have of myself.
When pregnant, I was terrified of having a girl because I hadn’t really connected to the power of being a woman, and certainly didn’t feel able to raise one. Turns out motherhood opened me to embodying my incredible feminine side, and I’m so grateful. My daughter is the best.
My tattoos feel like codes written on my body to represent the lessons, healing and growth I’ve been through.
I hoped on a long haul bus in Laos thinking it was going to be a 10 hour journey. This local run ended up taking three days, drove through seven rivers and broke down five times. There were no other foreigners, no one spoke my language and no one in the world knew where I was. I wasn't prepared with enough food or even cash and couldn’t access any where we were. During that time I experienced community in a way that blew my mind and opened my heart.
